Also,listen to what they suggest., your DJ should have enough experience to be able to make a valuable contribution at the planning stage, with regard to perhaps special lighting effects to enhance the venue and personalise it for you, and discuss any background music requirements, maybe even projection of photographs ro video, and who will make annoincements ? These are all things that the professional DJ & Disco will have experience with, and can advise you about, and at that point you can discuss the costs involved.
The financial difference between average entertainment and personalised - WOW factor entertainment may not be that different !
Will your DJ have a massive song collection, and will he have the experience to use that collection to fill your dancefloor ? Will your Mobile DJ have equipment that looks tatty or tacky in your chosen venue, and will your DJ s sound system have your guests holding their ears because it's distorted or will it be clear and loud enough to dance to, yet not blasting out so people can hold a conversation ?
Will your Disco supply effect lighting to create a WOW factor, and help make the party even more special ?
Does your DJ have Public Liability Insurance (required by many venues) ? Do you get a contract to ensure he's going to turn up on the day ? Will he discuss music with you ?
All these things may make it sound as though having a professional DJ is expensive, but is it expensive if you get exactly what you want ? Is it expensive if the DJ takes time to understand your needs and dreams ?

Who is the underwriter of the PLI ?

|

The broker is Hencilla Canworth, the agent that brokers all the PLI entertainer policies. The Underwriter is the International Insurance Company of Hanover Ltd, one of the two insurance companies offering this kind of policy for DJs. Both underwriters cover the same aspects of our work and have very similar wording to their documents and policies, the important thing is that both policies are the same to the end user. You will find if you research it, that the household names associated with our industry use one of these policies, the most respected DJ association nationally use exactly the same policy as ours, although their membership offers more benefits and of course costs more

Are there exclusions in the policy ?

Yes, just as you would expect with any type of insurance (Car, House, Pet etc.), ours is the same as other DJ PLI policies,
and these exclusions are clearly explained within the policy document, do have a read !

Is there an Excess ?
|
|
|
|
Yes, it's £500, the same as all other DJ PLI Policies.

If another member makes a claim, am I affected ?
|
|
|
|
No, each member is equally covered individually for £10m for each and every claim while a member. Although this a is a block policy covering all our members, the policy applies to you and covers you as a named member/ individual, as though you had your own individual policy

|
|
|
When does the policy end ?
|
|
|
|
We have bought an annual policy as do other associations and organisations, your membership period is your cover period.
So as long as your membership is paid up and current, you are covered by PLI. Although our block policy will stop on the
15th of August next year, we will already have negotiated the policy for the next year, and this will continue to cover you for
the remainder of your membership period. We are here for the long term, so as long as you remain a member you will be covered

When do I get my policy documents
Once you've applied, and paid using the link provided, we will manually match your payment to your application and approve your membership. This is normally within a couple of hours during the week, however as working DJs ourselves, you'll understand that we will probably be setting up for functions at the weekend, so please don't leave it until the last minute if you urgently need your PLI for that night !
